Started with one doll, a lot of curiosity, and too much love to give away.
Reborn Baby World began in a spare room in Adelaide in 2016, when our founder painted her first reborn for a friend grieving a stillbirth. Nine years and over 1,200 adoptions later, it's still a small studio โ just a much busier one.
Every reborn we make leaves the studio with a name already chosen and a home already in mind. That's not a sales line โ it's how we've built this from day one.
A few things we won't compromise on
Small batches, always
We never mass-produce. Every face is hand-painted by one of three artists in our studio, in batches of no more than 20 at a time.
No reason required
Comfort after loss, dementia care, nurturing practice, or pure collecting โ whatever brought you here is welcome, no explanation needed.
Certified safe materials
Every doll uses child-safe vinyl or platinum-grade silicone, fully sealed, wipeable, and tested before it ever reaches the nursery.
The reborning process, start to finish
This is the same five-stage process behind every single doll in our nursery โ nothing is rushed, and nothing is automated.
Sculpt & cast
A donor sculpt is chosen and cast in soft vinyl or platinum silicone.
Layer the skin
15โ20 translucent paint layers build up veins, blushing and newborn mottling.
Root the hair
Mohair or fine synthetic fibres are hand-rooted strand by strand.
Weight & assemble
Glass beads and poly-pellets are added so every cuddle feels true to life.
Name & certify
Each baby is named, weighed and sent home with its certificate of adoption.
Nine years in, we still get a little emotional every time a certificate gets signed. That never gets old, and we hope it never does.
